DIY Tel Aviv in 2012

cat logo I’m not quite recovered from NYE yet. Not enough to be uploading any updates to the guide itself just yet, though this will be winging its way onto the site sometime soon (and I’ll update the blog when that happens). In the meantime, here’s a little bit of news about what’s in store for the DIY Tel Aviv guide this coming year as I am going to make a few changes in the new edition.

First of all, as of the next edition, the donation structure will change. There will no longer be a single download option. The PDF guide will be priced at £5 and will always allow unlimited downloads of all updates of the particular edition and there will no longer be the option to donate less than £5 for a single copy.
I’ve thought long and hard about this, but I think £5 is more than a fair price for the guide and as I would like this project to support itself (and me), I have to put my foot down on this one.

I am not quite sure yet when the new (third) edition of the guide will become live. I expect it to be sometime in the spring. Those of you who’ve paid for lifetime downloads will receive a new download link for the new edition (I will post instructions on how to do this closer to the time), while anyone who’s paid £5 for a previous edition of the guide will be able to download new updates for £1 each if they so choose (in case you don’t want to pay £5 for unlimited downloads of the new edition as well).

In more exciting news, I am looking into providing the DIY Tel Aviv Guide in hard copy form as well. I know some people prefer reading a book to reading a PDF. Because of printing costs, this version will cost more than the PDF guide, but people who buy the hard copy version will also get unlimited downloads of the monthly updates and I am working on developing a better system of reporting exactly what changes I’ve put into every update.

So watch this space and all that and let’s have a damn fine new year 🙂
