Yes, this is the time of year where this blog becomes one big party guide and practically nothing else. Normal service will resume after the festivities have finished and everyone’s rolling round in hungover misery.
So here are two more Sylvester parties for you. I’m sure there will be more as bars and venues get their fingers out and put them up online somewhere where I can actually see them.
First up, one of my favourite little places in town, the Little Prince cafe, will be having a party out on their lovely lovely balcony. There’ll be some live dub music and lots of electronic psychedelic groove. It’s only 20NIS, so you can check it out as you move around town (if that’s the sort of night you plan on having). The past parties of theirs I’ve passed through have been pretty subdued but it’s a beautiful space and the music is always fun, so worth checking out on the off chance it might turn into a secret party.
Also, I’ve been emailed by someone organising a party at the Saloona bar from 21:00 till 5:00. The Saloona bar used to be really cool and is still possibly the most beautifully designed bar in Tel Aviv, but in recent years it seems to have lost its edge a bit and gone rather more mainstream / middle of the road on the cultural front. This party (I think) is put on by external promoters, so all bets are off. I have no idea what sort of music, crowd and vibe it will have but it’s free, bang between Tel Aviv and Jaffa proper (so a handy stop on your rounds) and they’re offering shots of booze for 10NIS all night and Goldstar beer for 20NIS. Can’t really go wrong with such prices.
are these events for tonight? or when??
On the sylvester (NYE) night – 31/12 🙂
