In town and want to match for workers’ rights? Well, worry not! DIY Tel Aviv brings you this year’s plans for the May First demo and march in Tel Aviv. It’s this Friday, 29/4. I know what you’re thinking – that’s not May First, but there are reasons. Don’t ask me what those are, because I haven’t a clue, but I’m sure there are reasons aplenty for making the march on a Friday. For one, Israelis generally don’t really work on a Friday (or work less hours). There’s also the Israeli Holocaust Day, the eve of which is on May 1st this year.
Either way, if you’re in Tel Aviv, you get to celebrate (or protest) early.
This year the march will have a few gathering points. Just go to the one nearest to you and the marches will join together at some point.
Gathering points:
Levinsky Garden (opp central bus station) at 11:30
Corner of Dizengoff and Ben Gurion at 11:30
Arlozerov 93 at 11:00
