Activism This event will leave from Jerusalem, not Tel Aviv, but it sounds like something really worth doing. It’s happening on July 30th and places are really limited, so hurry and register interest if this sounds like something you may want to do. 30NIS if you have your own bike, add 65NIS if you need bike rental. Transfers are going to be 60NIS max.

I am cutting and pasting from the Facebook event page below:

Two days before the Ramadan, Palestinians, Israelis and Europeans will bike together for Peace. Help us make it happen! ✌

Who are we?
______________________
It all began from a group of Palestinian men and women from Nablus who founded a cycling group to promote athletic activity, environmental awareness and women equality in Nablus.

The group held a few successful cycling events and for the first time in history, women were seen cycling in the streets of Nablus.

The group coordinator, Saif Abu Ebad, has long dreamed of taking the group to cycle in Israel and visit the Temple Mount in Jerusalem for the first time. None of the group member has ever been to Israel, since receiving passage permits from the occupied territories to Israel is very difficult.

Saif made contact with Israeli activists from Combatants for Peace organization, who decided to help, and here we are!

Where will we visit?
______________________
The cycling tour will pass in the ruins of 1948 Palestinian villages in the Jerusalem mountains. After the tour, we shall visit Silwan on eastern Jerusalem and hear about the conflict there. We will then meet with members of Combatants for Peace and listen to their personal stories.

At sunset, the Palestinian group will take a tour in the old city of Jerusalem and visit Al-Aqsa mosque.

How to help?
______________________
Since transferring bicycles from the occupied Palestinian territories to Israel is practically impossible, we have to rent bicycles on the Israeli side for 60 shekels per pair, other from that, we have to pay for buses and food.
