See Sleep Party People in Tel Aviv for free this December!

Sleep Party People are coming to Tel Aviv and DIY Tel Aviv has teamed up once again with Zuzz Agency to give you some free tickets! OMG!

The gig is on December 18th 2017 at the Barby in Tel Aviv, so put the date in your calendar and read on. We’ll be giving away a few pairs of tickets to the gig in a Facebook competition.

Why you really want to go to this gig

It’s going to be weird, twisted, surreal and haunting. Perfect for what passes for a winter’s night here. With a bit of luck, you can close your eyes and imagine you’re in Copenhagen.

Some background info

The surrealist dream pop act from Denmark has been around since 2008 and channels influences from the likes of David Lynch, Boards of Canada and Erik Satie, mixed with distorted vocals, broken piano weirdness and a dark melodic mood.

Multi-instrumentalist Brian Batz heads the project and is effectively the only one in it, but is joined on stage by other musicians and performers wearing weird bunny masks.

Sleep Party People have released 4 albums –

Sleep Party People (2010)

We Were Drifting on a Sad Song (2012)

Floating (2013) – a collaboration with Jeff Saltzman and Mikael Johnston (known for working with the likes of The Killers, Blondie, Morrisey, The Sounds and Jane’s Addiction)

Lingering (2017) – out on Joyful Noise Recordings (Deerhoof, of Montreal, etc.)

Now they’re coming here to promote the latest album. Yay!

Tickets can be bought here.
