The hangman showing at the cinemateque tonight (and next week)

Film If you’re stuck for something to do in the next few hours, then you might still be able to make tonight’s showing of The Hangman at the Cinemateque (starts at 19:45). The Hangman is an award winning Israeli documentary (with English subtitles) about the prison warden who hung Adolf Eichmann. The former warden is a religious Yemenite Jew who was landed with performing Israel’s first (and, so far, last) official execusion. He now warks in a slaughterhouse and the documentary follows his life story as a way of presenting an alternative view of Israeli history. If you miss tonight’s showing, there are other showings next Weds (9/3), 14/3 and 30/3, all at 19:30.
