If you’re stuck for something to do in the next few hours, then you might still be able to make tonight’s showing of The Hangman at the Cinemateque (starts at 19:45). The Hangman is an award winning Israeli documentary (with English subtitles) about the prison warden who hung Adolf Eichmann. The former warden is a religious Yemenite Jew who was landed with performing Israel’s first (and, so far, last) official execusion. He now warks in a slaughterhouse and the documentary follows his life story as a way of presenting an alternative view of Israeli history. If you miss tonight’s showing, there are other showings next Weds (9/3), 14/3 and 30/3, all at 19:30.
