I’m not much of a sports fan, but I know many of my readers are, so if you’re wondering where to watch the upcoming Euro 2012 games (they start this Friday, but you already knew that, didn’t you?), I’ve come to save you from drinking at another overpriced, overtouristy fake Irish pub.
Instead, why not watch the games in real Israeli style, at the fun, casual, yet hip Maoz Bar? They’ll be showing all the games on a massive screen on their big porch, with two games a night, one at 19:00 and another at 21:30. If you’re lucky, you may even get a few handfuls of sunflower seeds to much on, so you can really go local.
Another contender for your custom is the KurDroy United on Allenby St., where hispters normally gather. Two games a night, big screens, drinking games and the occasional celebrity guest, plus some very cool people and a really nice little underground bar atmosphere.
Thank you, that is all.
