Sunday 14/12 (today)

Monday 15/12

At 19:00, get into the winter spirit with this vegan winter porridge workshop, taking the boredom out of this wintery breakfast dish. Tuesday 16/12

If you’re feeling devout, or just want to have some free wine and doughnuts, head over to the Great Synagogue on Allenby St. from 19:30 where they will be celebrating the first night of Hanukkah with candle lighting, mingling, free food & drink and also a story about miracles. Full details here.

Blues & Booz – a mini jazz festival at the Pasaz from 20:30PM till late is not far from the above, although somewhat different. For 80NIS (unless you hit attending on the Event page then it’s 60NIS) you can catch Full Trunk feat. Efraim Shamir, Tree, Dani Dorchin, Electric Zoo and the Blues & Booz supergroup surprise.

Wednesday 17/12

Macumba party at Tahat (Ibn Gabirol 108, behind the building, down the stairs) – sleazy upbeat electronic music and a midnight exorcism ritual to boot. 10NIS or so to get in.

Thursday 18/12

Haggai Matar will be giving an undoubtedly interesting lecture about Israeli media, the occupation and the Gaza war at Windows for Peace at 19:00. You can read all about it here.

Hastudia are holding a Drink & Draw evening from 20:00 where you can have some wine and do some life drawing. No experience necessary and basic drawing supplies are provided. Poses are facilitated though class is untutored. 90NIS in advance, 110NIS on the door (if there are tickets left).

Eatliz play a baroque-inspired acoustic set at the Ozen Bar from 21:00. Tickets are 60NIS and if you want, you can pay an extra 10NIS at the end and stay for Joove’s live show too.

Friday 19/12

Sail Away fashion fair opens at Lilienblum 23. From 10:00 – 18:00 on Fri and 10:00 – 20:00 on Sat. Clothing and accessories from a super long list of local importers and collectors. 10NIS to get in.

The second Space Whore Festival will be happening at Papaito Bar (Salame 29) from 17:00 till late with 13 awesome local bands playing everything from space rock to metal, grunge and garage. Only 20NIS. Clickable music links here.

Saturday 20/12

A little taste of the Israeli Burning Man community can be had at the Comfort 13 from 17:99 till late with a fundraising party for a large scale art piece to be featured at next year’s Midburn (Israel’s regional Burning Man event). Full details and ticket link here. Scroll down for English.
