A message to all the nice people who disagree with my politics

I’ve had a couple of emails recently from people who are obviously so pissed off with the opinions I express on my site that they were moved to rant at me via email. As trolls usually have troll friends who like to harass in groups, I thought I’d nip this in the bud. So to save myself time and effort, I am posting this here as a message to anyone who may feel the same. I honestly can’t be bothered to reply to all these people individually.

OK, so listen up.

This guide and this blog are my personal projects and as such they express my opinions about Tel Aviv and Israel.
Not everything here is political but yes, politics are included and they are my politics. I feel no need to include anyone else’s politics. There are plenty of other places online that do that already.

My guide invites people to ignore the politics section if they are not interested in Israeli politics or disagree with what’s inside. It’s only a small part of the guide, tucked away towards the end. Same goes for the blog. Political things are clearly marked. Not interested? Skip em. It’s that easy.

If you cannot bring yourself to respect another person’s opinion when it differs from yours and concentrate on the things we may have in common (such as favourite parties, bars, food, whatever), then my guide is probably not for you. That’s OK, there are plenty of other guides out there that are more mainstream and either ignore politics altogether or are more blatantly Zionist and right wing, such as the Taglit (Birthright) guide, for example.

No one is forcing you to read my blog or my guide, so please don’t try to force me to read your boring emails. I just deleted a really long one after reading just the first line of it. It must have taken someone quite a while to write it. What a waste…

Aaaaanyway, please don’t expect any replies from me, because I don’t have the time or the inclination to get into an argument with random people off the Internet. This is here as a generic answer to all of you trolls, so you don’t feel too sad when I ignore your emails.

Of course, please feel free to contact me if you’ve found a typo in my guide or if a place has shut and I haven’t updated the guide about it yet. I’m also happy to hear from you if I got some info wrong about an event in the blog or if you had a bad experience somewhere I’ve written about – you know, things that actually matter.

Oh and seriously, if you find yourself emailing random strangers online to complain about a valid opinion they’ve expressed on their own website then you really really really need to find something better to do with your life.

We can now go back to discussing all the cool stuff that happens in Tel Aviv.
Thank you and good night.

  1. Thank you for this website! How refreshing as well to read ‘Hasbara my ASS!’ – THANK you!! These people do not represent me, despite their claims to. Amazing website.
