Get ready for a week full of exciting activities and parties. August, the hottest month of the year, already arrived and there is always a lot of things to do in this crazy city, apart from going to the beach of course, and here we bring you some of them. Enjoy 🙂

 

Tonight (Sunday)

Vegan Evening with Chef Edward @ Shaffa Bar from 19:00 – Come and enjoy a nice vegan evening at this open fronted bar in the Jaffa flea market. You will find a variety of special summer dishes – made by the charismatic Chef Edward – to chill out with and replace your common culinary routine. Friendly prices.

Blues & Booze – the weekly night of free blues @ Pasaz from 21:30. This time they will be opening the evening with a Rolling Stones tribute, followed by open jam sessions as usual. If you play an instrument, bring it and sign up to play by 22:00 (they recommend arriving early).

Tomorrow (Monday)

Last Meeting Of The 80’s Season | Dexys Midnight Runners @ Radio EPGB from 20:00 to 22:00 – This last meeting of the 80’s season will be all about Dexys Midnight Runners (yes, the guys of “Come on Eileen”), a band that was very into punk and soul, folk and new wave, homage and innovation. This will be a night to celebrate the release of their debut album 35 years ago as well. 20/30 NIS.

HaMosad @ Ozen Bar from 21:00 –

Israeli rock-alternative band. Tickets 30/40NIS here.

Fancy Schmendrik @ Hoodna Bar from 22:00 – Enjoy of a jazz-funk night along with refreshing arrangements of pop hits and standards. The trio Fancy Schmendrik will be playing covers but also original material. These guys recently finished recording their first album and you can listen to them here. Free.

Tuesday

Maor Nawi @ Tmuna theatre from 21:30 – Rock/pop/electric – with a Middle Eastern touch. This talented singer-songwriter will be performing songs from her debut album “GO!”, released recently. Wednesday

Disco Halal | Teder.FM @ Tahat from 20:00 –

Disco Halal – an edit label / project that mixes house grooves with a wide range of sounds from different Middle Eastern countries, especially from Turkey – is bringing a release party to you with two DJs who are very into the Mediterranean sound, Kaan Düzarat (Turkey) and Moscoman (Israel), as part of the group of events that are taking place in Tahat club, thanks to TEDER.FM.

If you love the retro Middle Eastern vibe mixed with a groovy disco touch, then this for you. They will be selling records and bags in low prices as well. Tickets 20NIS on the door.

Tiny Fingers @ Barby –

This great local indie band is releasing its fifth album, so expect a night full of new awesome tunes. Doors open at 20:30, but the show starts at 22:00. 80NIS on the door or 60NIS in advance from here.

Thursday

Abba Party | 1984 @ Bootleg – In honor of the arrival of the famous musical Mamma Mia to this country, Tal Argaman and Tsach Zimroni, DJs from “1984”, will be the ones in charge of taking you back to the golden age of the most famous Swedish group ever, which includes special versions and rare segments, but also a lot of splendid pop songs with emphasis on the eighties and some disco tunes as well.

Anyone who comes until 1:00 am will be able to enter a raffle. Prize: a double ticket for the aforementioned musical.

Doors open at 23:30 pm. 30NIS until 1 am. After that, 40NIS members who registered in advance (you can do it here until Thursday 13 at 16:00 pm) and 50NIS for the rest.

Vex with Bashir @ Anna Loulou Bar –

Vex with Bashir comes back to Anna Loulou filling the night with punk, disco, hip hop, trip pop… a crazy but very enjoyable mix. Starting at 9 pm. Tickets 10NIS.

Baikal @ Bootleg – Baikal has become one of the most favorite names in the electronic scene in Berlin in recent years. Deep electronic sounds, house and atmospheric.

Saturday

Jacks Of Diamond @ Shapira Live  – Shapira Live comes back again, this time on the roof of Bar Kostrinski (3rd floor). Be ready for a night full of country, folk, roots and bluegrass performed by Jacks of Diamond. They will be playing some covers as well as their original songs.

The gig starts at 21:00, but you can go one hour before for beer (they say they have the cheapest alcohol in the city) and mingling. 10NIS on the door. More information here (in Hebrew).
