Lots of things going on tonight, luckily DIY Tel Aviv is here to explain what’s going on. Firstly, there are two social justice demos tonight, but only one of them is the real deal. The other one’s sort of been hijacked by people who want to go into politics, including the Israeli national student union leader who’s basically a little shit. The real social justice demo will meet at Habima Square, as always, at 20:00 and head off from there to Kaplan Street, where people will stage a sleep in outside of the government buildings. Bring a sleeping bag if you want to join them. Go to this demo is you support the Occupy movement and want to see social justice in Israel.
The fake demo is outside the Tel Aviv museum of art. Go there if you want to hear political speeches and some bands.
But apart from both of these, at 20:30 in Gan Meir, there’s an event to commemorate the homophobic murder that happened there 3 years ago at the gay youth club. Two people died and the killer was never caught. Some people are going there first and then joining the crowds to go to Kaplan.
