Salon Mazal is one of those rare places that this city really needs. It’s an alternative community space that runs all kinds of workshops and acts as an info point for a lot of really really good things, including some very good (rare) political activities.
They are always struggling to keep the place open, as it’s all run by volunteers with almost zero budget. Now you can help keep this place going by turning up to their benefit on Friday from 10:00PM. There’ll be a couple of DJs playing hip hop and random funky things and entry is only 20NIS. Regardless of whether you’re into the music, you should see this as a donation to a very good cause and just go. They really really need some money right now.
If you’re bored of the music, you can hang out in the Rogatka next door instead. I’m sure there’ll be something going on there as well.
On Saturday at 1:00PM, the very same place will host a DIY bicycle repair and advice workshop. Another good excuse to visit and see what this place is about, plus sort out any problems you’ve got with your bike.
