It’s been party party party on here recently so here’s a political one for you.
This Saturday there’s a big (if we make it big) pro-democracy demo happening in Tel Aviv. Pro democracy and anti fascism, which is unfortunately rife in Israel nowadays. So if you care, get your ass down there and make a stand.
It starts at 7:00PM at Gan Meir on King George St. right under Mezudat Zeev (the Likkud HQ, don’t forget to wave your first angrily at the people whose leader is responsible for the rise of fascism in this country by not using his power to stop it. Spitting is discouraged but fun). There will then be a march to the art museum, where I assume there will be some speeches and things. Maybe some music.
Tel Aviv marches / demos are pretty sedate compared to, well, anything, but especially compared to the nasty demos in Bil’in and East Jerusalem.
The Israeli government saves its tear gas and rubber bullets for the oppressed, at least for the time being.
What I’m basically saying is that this is going to be a safe march to join and we need the numbers. So come, bring your friend and maybe dance to the samba beat of the drums.
