Another post coming to you from my sick bed (or rather, sick sofa) as I am slowly recovering from the flu.
My extensive web surfing in my hour of need has taught me about this really cool event that happens every Wednesday from 3PM-5PM in Levinsky Park in Tel Aviv (the open space just down and opposite from the central bus station). It’s a friendly football game (soccer, if you’re American) with African asylum seekers and refugees. It includes an introduction plus a fun 20 minute warm up.
The game is organised by the ARDC to help homeless, jobless refugees feel more integrated and give them something fun to do in the day in between looking for work. If you like playing football and want a chance to do it regularly with a socially conscious twist then please do join in by just turning up. Apparently it’s really good fun.
