From 18:00 – late, Tel Aviv’s newest co-op run bar, the Bar Kayma (Hamashbir 22) is having the official opening party. I have no idea what the place is like yet but the music’s going to be good cause it’s by 106FM DJs, plus the ever present Ophir Toubul. Expect groove, soul and groovy world / Middle Eastern music. Also, it’s good to support a co-operative, vegan (or is it vegetarian?) not-for-profit venture. Free entry, sane drink prices.

Cheese fest! A Kylie Minogue themed 80s night at the Maxim Club from 23:00 – morning. Lots of Europop, trash, new wave, Italo-disco and, obviously, lots of Kylie. get there early to enter the raffle for copies of the new Kylie collection. Tickets 40-60NIS.

C.U.N.T, the city’s favourite indie night is doing a Morrissey and Smiths special, seeing as the man himself is gonna be playing in town soon. From Midnight at Levontin 7. 40-50NIS. They’ll be raffling off some tickets for the gig, too.

Queer Intifada at the Anna Loulou Bar. Tel Aviv’s queer vegan anarchist punk scene converges for a night of radical performance and politics, DIY merch and, of course, good music of the electronic kind (electro, techno, stuff). 10NIS entry, but you get a shot of booze for that. From 21:00 – late.

Delta Heavy (UK) playing at the Submob Crew Party at the Comfort 13. Dubstep with drum and bass touches and a good list of local support DJs. Tickets 60NIS from Hummus Abu Dubby or here. They’ll have some on the door till 1:00 for 70NIS (doors at 23:30).
