If the Tel Aviv White Party is a bit too big and faceless for you (or if you want to enjoy more than one vibe on the day), Beit Hair will celebrate Tel Aviv’s 102nd birthday with a smaller, more intimate street and roof party. Come to Kikar Bialik (Bialik Square) between 10:00 – 17:00 for a fun day out. It’ll start and finish with a cafe set up in the square and in between (from 12:00 – 16:00) there’ll be live music with Boom Pam and friends on stage, plus old Israeli grooves in the square and a happy bassy party on the roof. There may well be hipsters.
And if you want to head off into the sunset at some point, you can go to Mezizim beach from 15:00 – 19:00 where Gal Ofer of Krembo records will be playing a sunset session in what I believe may well be the first beach party of the year. Some sort of tech house or progressive I assume? I’m not sure what he plays nowadays but it’s electronic.
