Israel’s sweetest indie music band is on this weekend and there are still some tickets left. Yaarot Menashe happens in a pretty forest and features some of Israel’s finest alternative bands. There are loads of acts, too many for me to name here, but believe me when I say there are some truly talented people performing in lots of different styles, from alternative folk to rock, dub, electronic music, alternative pop, hipster pop, you name it.
Their website is in Hebrew only, but if you visit with Google Translate and choose the 2nd and 3rd option from the top on the badly thought out untranslatable Hebrew menu on the top left, you can get the line up for the main and Armageddon stages in English.
You can buy tickets with cash at Hummus Abu Dubby in Tel Aviv. The festival starts on Thursday (the 3rd) with a free evening for local teenagers (which you can attend if you have your own ride) and the main days are Fri and Sat. 180NIS buys you a ticket to the whole festival, plus a bus ride to and from the bus, leaving Tel Aviv on Friday lunchtime and heading back to Tel Aviv at 18:30 on Sat. Day tickets for Sat are 70NIS. This is a camping festival, so you’ll need to beg borrow or steal yourself some camping kit. There will be food and drink to buy there (bring cash, as there will be no cash points anywhere on site). Children welcome. For more info, call: 052-4370535
