Behold! It’s this week’s Tel Aviv event listings highlights brought to you by the magical DIY Tel Aviv app. If you haven’t downloaded it, then it must mean you’re one of those people living in a cave and using an old Nokia brick phone. Have no fear! You can use the information below to amaze your friends and still turn up at all the hippest events in town.

As usual, Sunday night means it’s Sorcerers’ night. So if you’re into mentalism, illusion and comedy. Head down to Cafe Yafo from 20:00 for dinner and one hell of a show. Tickets need to be bought in advance as this is a very popular show that sells out every single week, pretty much. Get your tickets here.

Sunday night is also Blues & Booz night, so if Blues is more your thing, go to the Pasaz, where there will be a live Muddy Waters tribute band, followed by a jam session.

If you know how to sing or play and want to join the jam, you can sign up on the spot by 23:30. Bring your own instrument (apart from drummers).

The world’s biggest eye contact experiment @ Habima square from 18:00 –

Israel’s contribution to this global event. 100% free. Here’s the blurb:

On October 15th, @TheLiberatorsInternational are organizing the World’s Biggest Eye Contact Experiment.

School of Shine, JOY Records & Pele are proud to host this event in our very own Tel Aviv and join this global project whose aim is to reconnect with our community and our humanity, not only on the streets of TLV – but with the rest of the world.

Take a moment to watch what we are trying to re-create on a worldwide scale: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=494398494056312

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

We’ve all been there – looking down at our phones, glancing away quickly, not saying ‘hi’ or smiling to the person across from us for fear that we will break some sort of social norm. It’s time to do something good for ourselves and make a change.

Firstly, smile to that person sitting opposite you on the bus. Second, come join us on October 15th to reconnect with other humans of Tel Aviv through our international eye gaze experiment.

Your participation will help create a global message for peace and human connection for years to come.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

What are we going to do?
Sit or stand across from one another with a sign that says “Where has the human connection gone? Share 1 minute of eye contact to find out…” And then we are simply going to share a moment with someone 🙂

Check out the past eye gaze experiment vides here:
https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=494398494056312&set=vb.425837690912393&type=2&theater

How can you help?
1. Share this event and invite your friends and family
2. Come on October 15th to sit down and share a moment with fellow humans of Tel Aviv
3. Volunteer to help us organize by sending us a comment below or by PM
4. Help us find a couple of photographers & videographers!

What you need on the day:
– 2 cushions or hoola hoops or chairs
– a picnic rug

Where to meet?
– We will meet on October 15 at 18:00 at Habima Square

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

Let’s make this a day to remember 🙂

Hosted with love by Partners in Shine – School of Shine and JOY Records.
