Here’s a quick rundown of some good parties I’ve found. I’ll probably add more as more emerge last minute.
These are all on the Monday (31/12):
There’s a small street party being planned outside the Achoti House on Matalon 70 in South Tel Aviv from 20:00. Not sure what will be going on there but it’s run by local Southern neighbourhoods activists so I expect there will be good eclectic and world music and an intimate bloc party vibe in one of Tel Aviv’s truly mixed neighbourhoods. They’re inviting everyone to join and participate – DJs, street artists, performers, live bands, etc. so if you want to help make this event happen and want more info, you can get in touch via the event page.

ADD, A mashup party (you know, where 2 songs are played at the same time, creating something new) at the Bootleg Club from 21:00. All your favourite 2012 hits mashed up, plus some older stuff. 60NIS till 00:30, 70 after or, if you actually do have ADD, you can get in for 50NIS with your ID and original diagnosis letter / Doctor’s note.
***
New Ear Party at the Ozen Bar from 21:30 – brilliant local punk bands to behold, a DJ, lots of booze, great vibe, only 30NIS if you buy your ticket in advance here, 40NIS on the door. First band on at 22:30.
The awesome bands are:
Vitarti
Bo LaBar
Tel Aviv Hardcore

Big party at Haoman 17 club for techno lovers:
GESAFFELSTEIN (Paris) Vs BRODINSKI (Paris) 4 Hours Dj Set.
I’m personally not a fan of Haoman 17 as it’s generally very very cramped in there and the sound is hardly the best in town (though they may have improved it since the last time I was there), but when you listen to music like this, you stop caring about all that. If you’re at all into techno, this music will do things to you that you won’t want to tell your parents about.
Tickets at 60NIS in advance, 90NIS on the door (with a huge queue). Do yourself a favour and get them in advance from somewhere like the Michatronix or the Deli bar, the Plazma clothing store, the Miznon restaurant, etc.. Doors at 21:30.

The Block club’s main spaces will feature the nostalgic sounds of the 4th Grade party – Tel Aviv’s fun 80s night, reaching across the multisexual rainbow. If you like Eurotrash, kitsch, dark 80s and old pop hits then you’ll definitely enjoy this happy party, as long as you’re 25+ as that’s the minimum age for this one! Doors at 22:30, tickets on the door 30NIS for the first hour, then 40-60NIS all night.

Meanwhile at The Squat, the Block Club’s other space, there’s a techno / tech house party with Roof Animals and Pacotek, two of the city’s most kicking party lines. DJs:
Mango + Finkelstein
Sonia + Anna
Soussana + Dina
playing back to back. Doors at 22:30, get there before midnight for free entry!

Groove, bass and madness: Los Caparos are playing a festive gig at Levontin 7. It’s going to be crazy, one would assume. Doors at 22:30.

Free and funky – the little Maoz bar will have DJ Tordes from The Apples and the band ImLashon playing funky music. It will be rammed full of hot people I assume, and the place is known as a bit of a pick up bar. Just sayin’…
