Before the Independence Day party rush takes over, allow me to take a moment to talk about the finer things in life – shopping, music and booze. Here’s an event combining all 3 into a fun rooftop designer sale on the 13th of May. There’ll be free wine, DJs playing and some clothing and accessories to buy, mostly originally designed and handmade in Israel.

Tel Aviv is apparently world famous for its private fashion sales. In fact, I’ve recently been contacted by someone doing research for a German TV show talking about these. Some are better than others and offer better finds and / or deals than others, but they are certainly a fun experience even if you don’t find anything you like. I have no idea what this one will be like, but it does sound like it’s going to be quite jolly. Uriel Acosta is a lovely little street and also boasts a particularly fine wine bar (Metushelach) which you can visit when you’ve drunk your fill of free wine.
