On Friday the 24th, from 5:00PM-11PM there will be a queer Palestinian party at the Comfort club organised and in support of the LGBTQ Palestinian organisation, Alqaws. There’ll be Arabic music and drag shows, as well as a chance to support a really important organisation.
First of all, I love seeing Palestinian events in Tel Aviv, because as an Israeli living in TA you never really get a chance to just mingle with Palestinian Arabs. Also, with Arab society being so conservative, it’s great to have a grassroots organisation helping people embrace and celebrate their sexuality. They have a long way to go before homosexuality, for example, is accepted, so a bit of support would be nice. Entry is 30NIS.
