If you’re in town this week, you’re in luck. The Fanzine festival is back in its newest form and is set to be huge. Practically every underground / radical / alternative venue in the South of Tel Aviv is participating and it’s set to be the most interesting showcase of local alternative culture you can imagine. There are too many things happening at the same time for you to try out all of them, but I wholeheartedly urge you to go to at least one of the amazing events planned. They’re all either free or super cheap. I will list all of them here as I get them and add more links. Keep checking this post regularly for updates because it’s chaos out there!
Events happening as part of the festival on Thurs:
The Fanzine Market from 18:00 outside of the Zimmer. Load up on the city’s weird and radical comics, fanzine and independently published thingies. Inside the Zimmer itself – music and bands including the Bitter Jews.

Banquet of the poor – this is taking place at what is possibly Tel Aviv’s most magical hidden venue, Yung Yiddish. Deep in the heart of the Central Bus Station is this theatre/ Yiddish library. Going into it is like stepping into a different world. The Banquet of the poor will feature cabaret, experimental performance, music, circus acts and god knows what else. Starts at 20:00.
