Places to go and people to see if you want to catch some live music in Tel Aviv this weekend. Here’s your quick rundown of some fun things to check out.
Thursday 6/6
Tectonics Festival begins and will run across town at the Levontin 7, Hateiva and the Tel Aviv Museum. It’s an interesting-looking festival for experimental contemporary music with musicians from all over the world. Unfortunately, the official website is not updated with the Tel Aviv programme and the Facebook event page only lists things in Hebrew. You could take a chance and head over to Levontin 7 on Thurs, Hateiva on Fri or the Tel Aviv Museum on Saturday and catch whatever is on, or contact them and ask for info. Tickets are 50NIS for each of the first two days, 80NIS for Saturday or 120NIS for everything. Contact Hateiva’s box office (03-6822403) or Levontin 7 (03-5605084) for tickets and to book.

On the shoulders of giants play the Ozen Bar at 14:00. 30NIS.

Later on at the same venue you can catch the Reines Girls playing a rare live gig at 21:30 (50NIS). At 23:45 Taani Esther will play a midnight gig for only 10NIS more.

If you’re feeling nostalgic for the experimental beauty that was the 80s and 90s new wave / industrial weirdness crossover, then head down to the Barby from 22:30 and pay your 170-190NIS entry free for the Legendary Pink Dots. The crowd will go wild.

Saturday 8/8
Bandito Festival at the Koro from 16:00! 8 crazy underground punk bands from the Tel Aviv scene in one 40NIS ticket. Come in a sombrero or a luchador mask for discounter entry. Check out the Facebook event page for a list of bands and links.
