Love it or hate it, it’s coming up. So if you’re in Tel Aviv for this Valentine’s Day, alone or together, here are some things you can do:
Gal Angel from swimsuit / lingerie label Ugly Duckling is having a special Valentine’s Day sale in her studio from 16:00 – 20:00 (Pinsker 13, Flat 9). Discounts on pretty lingerie sets, swimsuits and all kinds of other things.

Thursday is show opening night across Tel Aviv’s galleries and some are actually getting into the V-day mood. From 19:00 at Ben Atar 33 (2nd floor) you can see (and buy) works by Rotem Ritov and Gideon Smilansky, for example.

The Tarnegol Restaurant in Jaffa is showing some sort of film called “Gamers” which sounds interesting, and I’ve heard good things about the food and vibe there: meant to be simple and fun. Starts at 21:00 and is free, but obviously you pay for food. Sheerit Israel 4.

The Casbah Cafe in Florentin is celebrating its 4th birthday from 21:00. Music, a live swing show and lots of fun people around.

Heard of the One Billion Rising initiative? The thing where everyone’s meant to dance to raise awareness of violence against women? Well, there’s an event outside the Tel Aviv Cinemateque from 18:00 – 22:00 where you can join a giant flashmob of dancers all dancing in synch (learn the dance here). But if you want to do something apart from dance, I suggest you go to the event at Studio Naim from 21:00 where there will be dance shows, followed by a party where you can do as much dancing as you want. All proceeds will be donated to a local effort of supplying homeless women and sex workers in South Tel Aviv with pepper spray so they can defend themselves against actual attacks. If you want to dance to sticky love songs, rub against your loved one or come back with a new loved one, then get down to the Anna Loulou from 21:00 onwards. Slow dance party, hot hot hipsters, what could possibly go wrong?

Or…Just say fuck it and get down to the Zimmer for a night of punk and hardcore live shows: Hayehudonim // Marmara Streisand // Korbanotץ Starts at 21:00, not sure how much it’ll cost but it’ll be very cheap, as will the booze.
