party Just a few things going on tonight and tomorrow night in Tel Aviv on this party weekend most AWESOME…

Tonight

Ladies and gentlemen…It’s the one, the only Gilles Peterson! At the Block Club. Doors at 23:30. Tickets 70NIS in advance from here, or you can try the Teder Bar or the Miznon (in the guide under restaurants) or Abu Dubby hummus (in the guide under fast food). He’ll be playing a very long set, starting at 00:30 on the dot, so get there early.

From 18:00 Teder is hosting the launch party of the GhostTown crew‘s new line of T-shirts (loads more than the stuff you see on their website). There will be some great music from the TABAC crew and lots of very cool T-shirts at discounted prices. Great if you’re a guy and want some very hot new Ts. Some very cool stuff for girls too, though. Free.

Michatronix is having a cross genre night of house, techno and Middle Eastern sounds. Starts at 22:00 goes on till morning and is free.

***

Anna LouLou bar is having one of their Dance Here nights of electronic music. This time it’s Euro beats Vs African vocals. From around 22:00. Free.

Tomorrow (Fri)

If you enjoyed last week’s most excellent afternoon party at the Teder (or missed it and are now beating yourself up over it), then you should know there’s another afternoon party, this time at Port Said. Get there from 14:00 onwards (but remember, they shut on Friday evenings because of the nearby synagogue, so don’t turn up at 20:00 and be all like “where’s the party?”) for free Caribbean sounds and some of the nicest food in Tel Aviv, including some new surprises on the menu.

Massive, massive, massive and did I say massive party at the Block. Tlat Phasi (3-phase)

Do you miss the 80s? Would you like to have a dance to some goth classics in the same place where Siouxsie and the Banshees once played Tel Aviv (and also, I believe, The Cure)? Well, you can’t, because Tel Aviv’s legendary Penguin Club has long shut, but you can do the next best thing. Go to the Penguin reunion party at the Cat and Dog Club (Tsiklag 16, which is behind Carlibach 23) from 23:00 where the original Penguin resident joins the residents of Tel Aviv’s favourite dark 80s night, 1984 for a night of new wave, goth, industrial and other 80s darkness hits. As always, you don’t have to dress up if you don’t want to. Most people don’t dress up, they just come for the music and don’t take themselves too seriously. Tickets are 30NIS before 00:30 and 40NIS after.

Sexy multisexual party at Zizi with a local all girl line up playing trashy and sexy house and electro (maybe some disco?). It’s gonna be sexy and you’re probably gonna pull. 50NIS before 00:00, 60NIS after. Starts at 23:00.

***

Speaking of pulling…The breakfast club are having a sort of tech house night. Not sure of prices (usually no more than 40NIS at most) from 23:00. I assume it will be rammed full of attractive, horny young people as always, or at the very least lots of guys trying to chat up women.
