A showing of Gasland this Saturday in Tel Aviv and more activism stuff

activismIt’s been a while since I’ve written about activism/politics related stuff, so here are a few interesting things happening soon.

First up, there’s a showing of the film Gasland this Saturday (25.8) at Beit Haam (Rothschild 69) at 18:00. It’s a documentary, in English about the natural gas industry in the US and how it affects people and their land. After the showing, there will be a discussion (in Hebrew) about issues to do with tycoons, governments and the environment.

Meanwhile, have you demonstrated against the war with Iran yet? There is a demo every night at 20:00 underneath Ehud Barak’s building, the corner of Ibn Gabirol and Shaul Hamelech (the huge tower). Even if you can only spend 15 minutes while passing through, it’s worth going and making some noise. Feel free to do something in the Israel loves Iran style for extra credit.
