Another week, another whole load of parties. This time, with added luuuurve, as it’s Tu Beav on Friday, which is the closest Judaism has to Valentine’s Day (apart from Valentine’s Day itself which people have started cashing in on in recent years). But don’t worry, most people don’t really celebrate it.
Thursday
From 19:00 – I’m guessing around 23:00 or later, a vintage style free outdoors swing and charleston party at Dizengoff Square. There will be free dance lessons on the hour at 19:00, 21:00 and 22:00 and the brilliant New Orleans Function Band will play live at 20:00. Come dressed up in vintage / retro clothes if possible, no stress if you can’t.

From 20:30 at the Comfort 13 a fundraiser for a local dog charity has a bunch of cool local indie bands playing till midnight and then a big electronic rave with:

The whole night costs only 30NIS and all profits go to helping out the abandoned dogs.

Pachanga Boys play the Urbanika loft to celebrate the Deli’s (and the News’) birthday. Cool Latin-infused techno with twists. Tickets 70NIS in advance from here and are limited in number. Not sure there’ll be enough on the door at night. Starts at 22:00.

The last A.D.D Mashup party of the season at the Comfort 13 from 23:00. Go if you like Mashups :). Tickets are 70NIS on the door or 60NIS if you email discounts@add-music.co.il with your full name and mobile number. You can do this by 15:00 on the day of the party.

The Breakfast Club has a good dose of deep techno and house for Fetish Fridays and upstairs at the Milk Bar is nu disco and fun. Starts at 23:30, entry 40-60NIS (come early, pay less).

Warp Records’ Hudson Mohawke at the Block. Awesome hip hop and electronica from 23:55. Big name, big sound, big local support from the excellent TABAC crew. Get your tickets early for 80NIS +booking fee here. They’ll be 110NIS on the door and you’d have to queue.
