Mad Music – free indie gigs in Tel Aviv tomorrow

gig Tomorrow night there’s a local indie music festival happening around town. 40 different bands will play across a bunch of venues including Rothschild 12, Levontin 7, Lima Lima, Shesek Bar Abraxas on Lilienblum St, Tsuzamen Bar (Lilienblum 25) and and even the David Intercontinental that has some stuff going on in the morning, but you have to pay. All gigs are free and shows start at 18:00 and there are loads of them.

My recommendations are:

Photoaxis (18:00) and Cannons (19:30) at Abraxas
Raw Men Empire (18:45) and Tree (20:15) at Lima Lima
The Angelcy (18:00) at Rothschild 12.
The Wake Up Suzzys (18:45) and the Psychotic Beach Bums (19:30) at Levontin 7

But there are loads more and I don’t even know some of them, so I’m sure there’s loads more good stuff to check out.

All gigs are free and places are limited. You need to sign up in advance on the bottom of the official page (From right to left: first name, last name, phone number, email. Untick the box unless you want Hebrew language updates from the newspaper that’s sponsoring this). Try to arrive early to make sure you get in. Most of these venues are in close proximity to each other (apart from Levontin). I would say, though, that if you’ve found a good spot and you’re enjoying the music, it might be worth staying in one place and just checking out what’s there throughout the evening. I have no idea how rammed things will be.
