Obviously, the Israeli week actually starts on the Sunday, but as I have more time on Mondays to collect events, I&#8217;ve moved it here. But I have some Sunday stuff for you to do at the very end.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday (Today)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re craft minded, you can head over to City Tree for the weekly knitting circle, starting at 18:00. It&#8217;s not a workshop, rather an opportunity to socialise while knitting, learn from others and maybe teach someone else stuff you know and they don&#8217;t. I think it&#8217;s free, though you might be expected to leave a small donation for the space, if you&#8217;re so inclined. You can email <a href=\"mailto:tree@citytree.net\">tree@citytree.net<\/a> for more info.<\/p>\n<p>*<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/rpssurfers.bandcamp.com\/album\/danger-beach\">RPS Surfers<\/a> will play a free gig at Buxa tonight from 21:00. Original surf rock, partly in aid of raising awareness of the problems faced by local surfers. Recently, the Tel Aviv municipality has been fining them for surfing off Tel Aviv&#8217;s beaches.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cheap cheap clothes at the Gagarin&#8217;s night bazaar from 20:00-midnight. Secondhand clothes, shoes accessories and more for men and women for only 10NIS each. This event will repeat on Weds night too, but if you want to get the really good stuff, be there on Tuesday and be there early. Free entry, I believe.<\/p>\n<p>*<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/the1840s.bandcamp.com\/\">The 1840s<\/a> play the Rothschild 12 from 22:00. Post-punk \/ pop-rock \/ shoegaze cross with English lyrics. Free.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose your favourite Middle Eastern \/ North African twist:<\/p>\n<p>At Levontin 7, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XSz8yOzLz-s\">Bint el Funk<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCjFNeJXP56UxRTjo_mlTO2A\">Quarter to Africa<\/a> will play Yemenite funk and Arab-African grooves live from 20:00. 50NIS.<\/p>\n<p>*<br \/>\nMeanwhile, Anna Loulou Bar is having another Couscous party. This time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WhqHHbfgmiM\">Eli and the Chocolate Factory<\/a> will play live swing and New Orleans style jazz (I guess cause New Orleans was French?), followed by a party French and North African music. There will also be actual couscous to eat, with both vegan and meat based toppings. Free. From 21:00<\/p>\n<p>*<\/p>\n<p>If you want something a bit more western, head down to the Buxa from 21:00 where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=j4aL1NMiZrY&#038;feature=youtu.be\">D.R.Y<\/a> will play their first gig in a while. Free.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the Koro Bar, a tiny cross section of Israeli underground music with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=pBPzybgKrS8\">Ryskinder and his band, Tkufa Hashucha<\/a>, followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=et2sQBxRbgw\">the Orions<\/a>. From 21:00. Probably around 30NIS.<\/p>\n<p>*<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, two beautiful and intimate spaces in Jaffa will host salon gigs with very limited spaces, one act in each. Get your tickets in advance if you want to enjoy this unique experience. 35NIS for one, 45 in advance for the 2. My personal favourite is the Tel Aviv Central Bus Station Tour, which is a must if you enjoy any sort of urban exploration. There is also a Rothschild sculpture tour and a graffiti and street art tour for art lovers, plus the rarer Neve Shaanan neighbourhood tour in the evening. Tours go out based on minimum participation, so sign up in advance if you&#8217;re interested. Quoting the code DIY Tel Aviv will get you a little discount.<\/p>\n<p>*<\/p>\n<p>T-market, the urban designer fashion fair will take over the Kuli Alma from 11:00-18:00 and then on Sat from 10:00 -19:00. 10NIS gets you in to enjoy dozens of stalls from local designers, selling T-shirts, club, street and young fashion with clothing and accessories for both men and women. There&#8217;s always some great bargains to be had.<\/p>\n<p>*<br \/>\nA smaller sale is at the Geula mini Bar on Geula st. from 11:00 &#8211; 18:00. On sale will be one of a kind upcycled fashion including band t shirts, hoodies, dresses and more that have been beautifully hand embroidered to provide real one of a kind pieces. To keep you hipsters happy, there will also be Mexican food on offer and yes, there will be vegan options.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Winter&#8217;s Tale &#8211; a mini acoustic festival at the Pasaz starts at 20:00. 30NIS gets you in to see Amit Erez, Maya Johanna, On Shoulders of Giants, Russo &#038; Weinberg and Ben &#038; Chen. Music will range from folk to pop, rock and even soul and country.<\/p>\n<p>*<br \/>\nMeanwhile, South of the border, if you&#8217;re anywhere near the Shapira neighbourhood, head down to Bar Yokhai 41 from 20:00 for another installment of Shapira Live, where 10NIS will get you into a salon gig with Eli and the Chocolate Factory, playing swing and New Orleans jazz.<\/p>\n<p>*<\/p>\n<p>Or if you&#8217;re feeling far less gentle and sophisticated, Cain &#038; Abel 90210 are launching their new album, Videodrome at the Barby from 20:30 with lots of help from their friends. Think metal, stoner rock, rap and more. 50NIS in advance, more on the door.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The first of two nights of African music gigs as part of the African-Ethnic festival. The first night will see Groove Ambassadors and Aveva at 20:00 and 22:30 respectively.
