Levinsky Garden Culture Center grand opening – free indie gigs

gigThe Levinsky Garden library is a lovely enterprise that is an active lending library catering for asylum seekers and work migrants. Today, they’re launching their new cultural community centre, which will offer cheap classes and events for locals, both Israeli born and foreign born. The event has literally just started, with stuff for kids till about 17:00. From 16:00 you can sign up for Feldenkrais treatments or get a haircut on site. From 17:00 – 20:00 there are going to be surprise gigs by great local bands. I know Jack in the Box are going to be playing and they’re very cool. At 20:30 there will be some sort of film screening, followed by a discussion. As I understand, the new culture centre is at Levinsky Garden, inside the bomb shelter near the garden library itself (the library is easy enough to spot in the park/garden). The garden is almost opposite the Central bus station on Levinsky St.
